The German coast is divided between the North Sea and the Baltic Sea. Due to the shallow water and the tides, there are only mudflats on the North Sea coast at low tide and the sea is often barely visible. Meanwhile, the Baltic Sea coast has a relatively constant water level. Both have their charm and offer the photographer very different challenges.
